Q-Bic Systems

Developing Sifonika Q-Bic is the answer to the growing needs of our customers and is based on our experience in the market for water management. The intelligent design of Sifonika QBic its and accessories offers at all times flexibility and support essential in a work of rainwater regulation.

 

Recordable, inspectable, washable and very durable. Building a regulation tank of rainwater with Q-Bic is to be assured of a lasting, functional and fully integrated with the existing urban environment work. Besides the possibilities of urban space conditioning multiply, since above the deposit made with the Q-Bic system, you can create green spaces, parking lots, streets, etc.... The Q-Bic solution allows the building of an optimum efficiency tank, in a faster and simpler way than with any other system.

Technical characteristics of the Q-Bic unit:

• Material: Polypropylene (PP).

• Dimensions: 1200 x 600 x 600 mm (L x W x H).

• Volume: 432 gross litres / 410 net litres.

• Efficiency ratio: 95%.

• Connection to incoming / outgoing pipe: Ø 160 to Ø 315 (optional Ø 400, Ø 500).

Examples of applications of Q-Bic System
Q-Bic Sifonika can be used under roads, pavements, curbs and greenery provided the overlay heights below are met.
Installation under green areas without traffic, recommendation - 0.30 m.
Installation under roads with light traffic (F <3.5 T) recommendation -0.60 m.
Installation under roads with heavy traffic (trucks load up to 13 tons), recommendation - 0.80 m.

The nominal fill height can vary from 0.30 m to 3 m, depending on the type of filler used and the type of traffic.
Maximum number of layers: 10 layers.


Installing the Q-Bic System

The site preparation works are carried out in accordance with local ordinances regarding safety. To determine the width of the trench depth the system and the original terrain features will be taken into account.


A minimum distance of 0.5 m between the walls of the Q-Bic structure and the trench is required to facilitate safe access in accordance with safety regulations and to allow the following:
• Connect the side tubes to the system / tank.
• Install the accessories (side covers, etc ...)
• Place geotextiles and / or geomembranes, fill and compact with an appropriate material.
• In the case of an infiltration system, you must keep a minimum distance of 5 meters to the nearest building, depending on local regulations.


The subfloor must be stable and must have a capacity equal to 50 MPa in the case of installation under roads.
If the installation is under green areas, such capacity should be 30 MPa.


Note: The installation must be on dry land without water ingress. If there is water, you have to design and install appropriate systems to drain water ingress during installation, filling and compaction operations.


Special care is required in all matters relating to the flat surface on which the installation will be performed in order to ensure stability and ease thereof. A flat surface of at least 10 cm. thick must be formed with a granular material previously moistured and properly compacted and finally isolated. The degree of compaction of said layer will be the level 95 Proctor.

You can use the excavated soil to do this if the diameter of the largest aggregate size does not exceed 20 mm. The stones and pieces of land can cause excessive pressure points and therefore must be removed. In cases of infiltration it is advisable to use a material that provides cohesion to the soil to ensure system stability. When using filler, do not forget the infiltration capacity of the system As for filling materials, local regulations must be observed. Side Filling: the quality of this filler is important to ensure the durability of the system. Start by filling the tank sides with either a self-compacting material, or other material in which each 30-40 cm thick layer is compacted. Continue layer by layer around the system. We recommend using a vibration plate for this operation.

 

A tamper is also possible. Top Filling: a protective 50 cm layer of sand is placed. above the tank. When possible, compacting it using water or a roller. Do not use a vibratory roller.

 

The upper filling is a 30 to 40 cm layer.

• Green areas WITHOUT TRAFFIC: material from the work can be used to fill.

• Road with light traffic: Fill in accordance with local regulations.

• Road with medium to heavy traffic. Fill in accordance to local regulations. Pre-installation: pipes that provide the input flow should be connected to the tank at the top of the structure formed by the Q-Bic modules.

 

Execution Order: the steps to prepare the space where you will install the tank infiltration are:

• dig a hole that allows the correct compaction of the floor and sides.

• The base of the hole must have a smooth surface and be levelled.

• The side walls of the hole must be run with a safe angle or adequate support.

• Check for any soft material at the base of the hole. If any, remove and fill with granular filling material.

• Spread a layer of sand with a thickness of 100 mm, levelling and compacting.

• Place the geotextile on the bottom and the sides of the excavation hole.

• Install the Q-Bic units.

• The attachment clips are placed bonding units of the same level.

• Clips and vertical connectors allow attachment of layers of different levels.

• Finish wrapping the geotextile structure formed by Q-Bic units, ensuring that the base, sides and top of the tank are covered.

• Install the input pipes, the tank inlet and the spillway.

• Fill the gap around the installation with suitable compacted material in layers of 150mm each.

• Place a thick layer of sand on top of the tank, protecting the units.

• Continue the filling

• Complete the construction of pavements and gardens on the installed system. Execution Order: the steps to prepare the space where you will install the tank infiltration are:

• Place the protective geotextile on the sides and excavation hole, leaving it ready to cover the top.

• Extend the geomembrane on the protective geotextile around the tank space, covering the base and sides. Leave it prepared to cover the top of the tank. Check that welds are perfectly executed.

• Cover the geomembrane with a new layer of geotextile that will protect the geomembrane from the edges of the tank and inner forces.

• Install the Q-Bic units and verify that the marks for the pipes access are in the right place for the inlet and outlet pipes.

• The attachment clips are placed bonding the units of the same level.

• Vertical clips and connectors allow attachment of layers of different levels.

• Complete the installation of the layers of geotextile and geomembrane, making sure that the top is manhole covered.

• The geomembrane must be installed by a professional, by double sewing and checking the perfect welding.

• Install the water inlet and outlet to the tank using the appropriate adapters.

• Install the vent pipe of the tank.

• Fill the gap around installation with suitable compacted material in layers of 150mm each.

• Place a thick layer of sand on top of the tank, protecting the units. Continue with the filling.

• Complete the construction of pavements and gardens on the installed system.
